TAKE ACTION NOW!
Conservation Security Act 2001

1. Call Today For the CSA: Please call Representative and Senators and urge them to co-sponsor the CSA. The bill number in the House is HR1949 and in the Senate it is S. 932. See the bill.

The Capitol Switchboard number is 202-224-3121. Ask for your Representative by name and they will connect you. Ask to speak with the legislative aide who handles agriculture. If you get voice mail, leave a short message and/or ask to be called back. Simply tell them you support the Conservation Security Act (CSA) and ask them to become co-sponsors if they are not already, and thank them if they have! For CSA talking points go to the National Campaign for Sustainable Agriculture CSA Talking Points.

If they are as yet undecided, be persistent but friendly, as we will want to encourage them to support the bill later in the process. House members who would like to be a co-sponsor should contact Representative John Thune (R-SD) or Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) who are the lead co-sponsors of the Bill.

After speaking with your Representative’s office, you can repeat the process with your Senators. Ask them to support S. 932 (the CSA’s bill number in the Senate) and tell them that they can contact Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) or Gordon Smith (R-OR) if they would like to be a co-sponsor on the bill.

Who's My Legislator?
